Kamla ejected from Parliament after Speaker denies approval to debate motion on missing women, murders

Speaker of the House of Representatives, has ejected Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar from the House after Persad-Bissessar challenged the Speaker's refusal to grant approval to debate a motion on missing people and murders.


The entire Opposition bench then walked out.

Persad-Bissessar had sought to debate the issue as a matter of urgent public importance.

Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar has written to Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley calling for a non-legal resolution to the Sangre Grande deadlock.

The Opposition Leader said the Opposition does not want a legal battle on the matter and believes it can be resolved through a mutual agreement.

She ios also encouraging all those who are trapped in abusive conditions to seek help.

Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar says the Government's zero-percent offer to public servants is a declaration of war against hard-working citizens.
