Seven people were arrested on various offences, including for rape and attempted murder in police exercises conducted in South and North Trinidad.
According to a police report, the anti-crime exercise was conducted in the St Joseph and South Western Districts between 9 pm on Thursday and 5.30 am on Friday.
It was supervised by Inspector Hernandez and Sergeant Thomas (Ag), and included a party of police officers from the St Joseph Criminal Investigations Department and the Northern Division's Crime Suppression Unit.
A 39-year-old Tobago man has been sentenced to five years hard labour after being charged for shop breaking and larceny.
Fidel Skeete, of Skeete Trace, Golden Grove Road, Buccoo, received the sentence after he appeared before Magistrate Andriana Cedeno in the Scarborough Magistrate 1st Court on Wednesday, October 9, 2019.

According to police reports around 8:30 pm, on November 17th the 21-year-old owner of the vehicle, left his car idling while he went to purchase some items at a nearby stall, along the Lady Young Road, Morvant.
The victim’s Samsung S6 cellular phone and Chelsea FC wallet were also in the vehicle at the time it was stolen.

Alton Britto, 51, of Gru Gru Patch Road, Providence, appeared before Magistrate Indrani Cedeno in the Scarborough 1st Magistrates’ Court on Monday to answer to the charge.

Rianne Fuchong a 32-year-old woman from Tunapuna Road, Arima will appear before a Port-of Spain Magistrate today charged with larceny totalling $279,400 from three victims.
Fuchong was arrested during an anti-crime exercise on August 20th by officers of the Fraud Squad.
She was later separately charged with three counts of larceny in the sums of $161,400, $100,000, and $18,000, by W/Cpl Jamillia Joseph-Francis, Cpl Ricardo Toney and WPC Efaye Jointe, respectively on August 23rd.
A Penal man is currently in police custody, after being arrested and charged with housebreaking and larceny against a 55-year-old victim in the Barrackpore district.
The 40-year-old male suspect was arrested by officers of the Barrackpore Police Station, following enquiries into a report of housebreaking and larceny at a house along Manohar Trace, Barrackpore, on Wednesday 1st August, 2018.
The victim reported to police that he secured his home around 9:00 am and went away.
Marie Ragoonath, 50, of New Grant Princes Town appeared before a Princes Town Magistrates' Court, charged with larceny in the sum of TT$30,000.
According to reports Ragoonath a checker at the Princes Town Regional Corporation allegedly received TT$30,000 between Wednesday 26th October 2016, and Thursday 17th November 2016, as payment for port and customs fees and subsequent delivery of a Nissan Tiida motor vehicle.
It was later learned by the victim that the money was not used for its intended purposes and all attempts to be refunded proved futile.
A Princes Town man is sentenced to 70 months’ hard-labour by a Princes Town Magistrate, after pleading guilty to housebreaking and larceny of a woman’s house in Moruga.
Prem Gajadhar, 22, of Matilda Avenue, Princes Town, was also charged with possession of marijuana, when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Rae Roopchand, in the Princes Town 1st Magistrates’ Court, on Monday 23rd July, 2018, to answer to the charges.
He was sentenced to 70 months’ hard-labour for the charge of housebreaking and larceny and 12 months’ hard-labour for the charge of possession of marijuana.
A La Romaine man is now in police custody after Southern Division officers had cause to arrest him, in connection with a report of larceny of a motor vehicle, which occurred on Wednesday 2nd May, 2018.
While on mobile patrol along the Southern Main Road, La Romaine, around 1:30 am on Thursday 3rd May, 2018, officers observed a gold Toyota Corolla, which was reported as stolen from the New Grant area, parked in the vicinity of Potato Street Junction with two male occupants.
Officers proceeded to call out to the men, who immediately began running.
