Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has toured the first two phases of the CRH extension to Manzanilla
Accompanied by Works Minister Rohan Sinanan, a team from NIDCO and officials from Kallco Co Ltd, Dr Rowley visited phase 1 of the works which has two parts.
Phase 1A which is 2.5km in length is estimated to cost approximatley $198 million dollars and is expected to be completed in August.
Phase 1B is estimated to cost 204 million dollars and is expected to be completed in January 2020.

The decomposing body of a woman was found by Forestry workers, floating by in the Mitan River, Manzanilla on Friday morning.
Reports indicate that Forestry employee Mohan Kemraj and a gang of workers were in the process of clearing the river banks in the area when they noticed what appeared to be a human body wrapped in plastic, floating in the water.
They made their way out to the main road where they flagged down a passing police vehicle.

Police are investigating the murder of a 43-year-old man on Manzanilla beach last night.
According to police reports, residents of North Manzanilla heard gunshots around 7pm Sunday night and called the police.
When police arrived they found 43-year-old Wendell Thomas lying dead on the beach.
He had been shot multiple times in his chest.
Police are also investigating the shooting death of a man who is yet to be identified, at Old Arima Road, Arima last night.
That murder is said to have occurred around 11.30pm.
The headless body retrieved from a plastic barrel along the Mitan river; Manzanilla has been positively identified as that of 26-year-old Eden Nekeisha Teesdale of Embarcadere, San Fernando.
The identification was made possible through fingerprints obtained when the victim had applied for a certificate of character in 2012. According to a release from the Trinidad and Tobago police service, Ms. Teesdale had been employed as a cleaner at the Mt. Hope Hospital.

Homicide detectives are seeking the assistance of the public in identifying the headless body of a woman found stuffed in a blue barrel in the Mitan River, Manzanilla, around 10:00pm on Tuesday 15th, March, 2016.
The body was severed at the waist and limbs and a tattoo bearing the word 'Leo' was found at the lower back region and a red rose with the word "Empress" was tattooed on the right upper shoulder.
There was another tattoo on her upper right arm, with the world "Alya".
The police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the body of a man which washed up on the shore of a Manzanilla Beach today.
According to police reports, shortly after midday, the half-naked body of a man of East Indian descent was found on the shore by residents.
The body bore two puncture wounds to the chest, and as such, the police are treating the case as a homicide. It was only clad in a T-shirt.
The body is of dark complexion and is an estimated 5’8” tall. The police believe he was between the ages of 40 to 50 years-old.
