President Anthony Carmona took traditional and social media to task yesterday as he slammed newspapers for becoming “garbage dumps” and lamented the rise of “armchair journalism.”
Carmona has now called on all law-abiding citizens to take a stand as he declared that “enough is enough.”
The wife and daughter of the late owner of media house WIN Caribbean Limited, Mohan Jaikaran, have made a public plea for support to save the media house from shutting down.
In a public announcement aired on the media house's television arm, WINTV, Jaikaran's daughter Shantel Jaikaran described the media house as being "on uncharted, choppy waters".
"WIN is on the brink of losing everything that has been built on the dreams and aspirations of my late father Mohan Jaikaran," she says while holding her mother Indra's hand on the station's news set.
