Another murder was recorded in Arima on Thursday night.
According to a police report, at about 8.30 pm, 43-year-old Julien Caleb was standing at the corner of Eastern Main Road and Kingdom Avenue when a gunman walked up to him and shot him dead.
Julien Caleb was the third resident from Malabar to be killed in the last 12 days.
Police said Caleb lived at Richard Street in Malabar and was a barber.
Former National Security Minister, Jack Warner, says it is time that Government officially activates a State of Emergency (SoE), to deal with the crime crisis in the country.

Reports are that the shooting incident occurred in the early hours of this morning at Demerara Road in Arima.

The man accused of killing Gabriella Du Barry at her Fyzabad home last Thursday, has been sent for a psychiatric evaluation at the St Ann’s Psychiatric Hospital.

Thirty year old Vishal Birju has been charged with the murder of Gabriella Du Barry.
Birju, a taxi driver from Pepper Village, Fyzabad, was charged yesterday evening.
He is expected to appear before a Siparia magistrate at the Siparia Magistrates’ Court, this morning.
Last Thursday, Garbiella Du Barry was at her parents’ home when Birju stormed the premises, entered a bedroom and opened fire on her. The mother of one was shot three times and died at the scene.
He was subsequently detained by police at his home.
The body that was found in Arouca on Monday is said to be a man identified only as "Beatle".

According to a police report, at about 7 pm on Monday, residents of Lopinot Road in an area known as Soap Hill heard multiple gunshots ring out.
Upon checking, they found Beatle’s body lying near a drain just off the roadway.
The children of the pre-school principal who was fatally stabbed yesterday, as well as those of her attacker, will receive counselling support from school social workers and the Student Support Services Division.
