Man killed in Couva

A man was shot and killed at Bahadoor Street in Couva, last evening.

Police say it is the first murder recorded in the Central Division for 2020.

According to reports, at approximately 6:30 pm, the man—identified as renaldo chinapoo—was shot once. 

He later died.

Investigations into this murder are ongoing.

Another murder in Port of Spain

The country has recorded yet another murder, on this the last day of the year…

CNC3 NEWS understands that Alvin Wallace also known as Wally, was shot and killed on Upper Duncan Street in Port of Spain.

The incident reportedly occurred at about 8:30 pm last night.

Investigations are ongoing.

Man who accused top cop of abuse killed

Cecil Skeete—the man who accused top cop Gary Griffith of choking, punching, and putting a gun to his head—has been shot dead.

Sources say the 50-year-old was shot several times last night near his Freedom Street, Cocorite home.

It is alleged he was part of the "Rasta City" Gang.

Over the years, Skeete reportedly had a number of run-ins with the law for possession of firearms and ammunition and other offences.

Guardian Media understands he was out on bail on charges of arms and ammunition possession dating to 2017.

Two dead overnight, on Boxing Night

A 35-year-old man from St Joseph was killed during an argument while at a bar in St Augustine on Friday morning.

According to police, at about 4 am, Joel Collier was at Bamboo's Bar, College Road in St Augustine, when he got into an argument with another man.

Eyewitnesses told police that Collier walked away from the argument, however, the man he was arguing with whipped out a gun and shot him several times killing him on the scene.

On Sunday night, in an unrelated incident, one man was left dead and two others wounded during a shooting incident in Arouca.

Christmas Eve murder victim went to purchase a van

The 24-year-old man who was killed on Christmas Eve day in Port of Spain went to purchase a van as a Christmas gift.

It is believed that he was lured into a trap where he was robbed of $40,000 in cash and his cellphone.

According to a police report, at about 1.50 pm, Dharmadass Ramjit was found with multiple gunshot wounds lying on the ground between Buildings 27 and 29 on Duncan Street. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Ramjit lived at Jerningham Junction in Cunupia.

Man killed by fake police

A 30-year-old Cipero Road man was killed by two men who were pretending to be police officers.

CNC3 NEWS understands that at around 10 30 last evening, Joseph Persad (of Woodland Avenue, Cipero Road) was at home when he heard a knock on his front door, followed by someone shouting “Police! Police!”

According to reports, this made Persad suspicious and he attempted to escape by jumping through a window. However, while doing so he heard a loud explosion. When he fell to the ground, the two men dealt him several blows and ran off.

Murder on Boxing Day

The murder toll continues to climb before the year's end as a father of a 1 year old child was killed during a Boxing Day lime.

The victim has been identified as Anthony Mohammed.

Reports are that he was shot and killed along the Arima Old Road, when two men walked up to him and his friends and relatives, and shot at them.

Two other men, said to be relatives of the deceased, also were shot and injured. They are warded at hospital.

Investigations continue.

Fatal stabbing in Chaguanas Market

Police are currently at the scene of a murder outside the Chaguanas Market.

Details are still coming in, however, CNC3 NEWS understands Christopher Mendoza of Brasso and another man got into an altercation.

Mendoza, who was stabbed during the incident, died at the scene.

The suspect escaped on foot.

Man injured in Arima shooting dies at hospital

A gunman opened fire on a group of young men who were liming in Arima on Monday night.

According to reports, as the group dispersed with the men running in different directions, the gunman singled out Keefa Bartholomew and chased after him shooting him eight times in the chest.

The incident occurred shortly after 10 pm at Calvary Hill.

Bartholomew was taken to the Arima District Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police said Bartholomew was recently seen in a video that went viral on Six Use Media, with him posing with illegal firearms.
