A 37-year-old unemployed man, who only two weeks ago moved into Farm Road, Madoo Singh Extension Bois Bande Settlement, Sangre Grande, was found dead with gun shot wounds to his body in his bamboo shack.
The dead man has been identified as Kawi Dhaniram, also called Blacks, formally of De Gannes and Jawahir lands, Cunaripo.
Police reported that around 1.50 am they responded to calls from residents of Farm Rooad, Madoo Extension Bois Bande Settlement who said they heard several gun shots
A businessman has been gunned down in a masjid following Friday prayers.
The victim has been identified as contractor Haniff Mohammed.
Mohammed had just attended Friday jummah at a majid in California and was reportedly exiting the mosque when he suddenly ran back inside.
That was when he was trailed by a gunman who fired two shots at Mohammed before escaping.
The businessman fell to the floor where he died.
Police are on the scene at this time.
Police are investigating a murder in Arima.
The shooting took place on Temple Street in Arima Thursday morning.
The victim has so far been identified as a relative of deceased alleged drug criminal, Lily Layne.
Layne was killed in a shooting in Malabar, Arima on August 16, 2007.

A 40-year-old man who allegedly tried to kill his ex-wife and her parents at their Palo Seco home on Sunday has been denied bail.
Evans Cornwall, of Gonzales Village, Guapo, appeared yesterday in the Siparia Magistrates’ Court charged with three counts of wounding with intent to kill.
The charges stemmed from an incident in which his ex-common-law wife Lizann Forrester, 30, her parents Leslie, 57, and Jennifer Forrester, 55, were chopped at their home around 7.30 am on May 5.
Tobago House of Assembly (THA) Chief Secretary Kelvin Charles is urging Tobagonians to come forward with information to help solve the double murder at Buccoo on Thursday.
"I am calling on the Tobago public to come forward with the information you may have that can assist the police in apprehending those responsible for this senseless killing," he said in a written statement.
John "Joker" Mills, 70, and his common-law wife Eulyn John, 61, of Cocrico Avenue, Buccoo, were found hogtied and stabbed at their home.
Tobago police have confirmed a double murder in the Buccoo area.
Information confirmed by Guardian Media states that the victims are a man and a woman.
The married couple was found at a house in Cocrico Avenue.

Police have identified the three people who were found dead in a vehicle along the Solomon Hochoy Highway in Ste Madeleine on Monday.
Couple George Quintero and Carmelita Garcia-Quintero and Quintero's daughter, Marisol, were identified as the victims found in the pickup, which was registered in Garcia-Quintero's name. Police confirmed the couple lived at Block 5, Palmiste, San Fernando.
According to initial reports, their bodies were discovered in the cabin of a red Nissan Frontier pickup around 7 am.
A 47-year-old taxi driver was killed during an apparent robbery early this morning.
According to reports, Kenneth Parris, of Lyndon Street, Curepe, was last seen alive around 2 am when he left Port-of-Spain to transport passengers to San Juan.
Shortly after departing, Parris crashed his car at the roundabout at the Maritime Flyover.
Emergency Health Services (EHS) personnel, who responded to the scene, discovered that Parris had been shot four times.

They are expected to appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate today to answer to the charges.
