Murder in Sangre Grande

A 37-year-old un­em­ployed man, who on­ly two weeks ago moved in­to Farm Road, Madoo Singh Ex­ten­sion Bois Bande Set­tle­ment, San­gre Grande, was found dead with gun shot wounds to his body in his bam­boo shack.

The dead man has been iden­ti­fied as Kawi Dhani­ram, al­so called Blacks, for­mal­ly of De Gannes and Jawahir lands, Cu­nar­ipo.

Po­lice re­port­ed that around 1.50 am they re­spond­ed to calls from res­i­dents of Farm Rooad, Madoo Ex­ten­sion Bois Bande Set­tle­ment who said they heard sev­er­al gun shots

Masjid murder - man shot dead after jummah

A businessman has been gunned down in a masjid following Friday prayers.

The victim has been identified as contractor Haniff Mohammed.

Mohammed had just attended Friday jummah at a majid in California and was reportedly exiting the mosque when he suddenly ran back inside.

That was when he was trailed by a gunman who fired two shots at Mohammed before escaping.

The businessman fell to the floor where he died.

Police are on the scene at this time.

Murder in Arima

Police are investigating a murder in Arima.

The shooting took place on Temple Street in Arima Thursday morning.

The victim has so far been identified as a relative of deceased alleged drug criminal, Lily Layne.

Layne was killed in a shooting in Malabar, Arima on August 16, 2007.

No bail for Palo Seco man accused of hacking family

A 40-year-old man who al­leged­ly tried to kill his ex-wife and her par­ents at their Pa­lo Seco home on Sun­day has been de­nied bail.

Evans Corn­wall, of Gon­za­les Vil­lage, Guapo, ap­peared yes­ter­day in the Siparia Mag­is­trates’ Court charged with three counts of wound­ing with in­tent to kill.

The charges stemmed from an in­ci­dent in which his ex-com­mon-law wife Lizann For­rester, 30, her par­ents Leslie, 57, and Jen­nifer For­rester, 55, were chopped at their home around 7.30 am on May 5.

Charles appeals for help with Tobago double murder

To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA) Chief Sec­re­tary Kelvin Charles is urg­ing To­bag­o­ni­ans to come for­ward with in­for­ma­tion to help solve the dou­ble mur­der at Buc­coo on Thurs­day.

"I am call­ing on the To­ba­go pub­lic to come for­ward with the in­for­ma­tion you may have that can as­sist the po­lice in ap­pre­hend­ing those re­spon­si­ble for this sense­less killing," he said in a writ­ten state­ment.

John "Jok­er" Mills, 70, and his com­mon-law wife Eu­lyn John, 61, of Cocrico Av­enue, Buc­coo, were found hogtied and stabbed at their home.

Double murder in Tobago

To­ba­go po­lice have con­firmed a dou­ble mur­der in the Buc­coo area.

In­for­ma­tion con­firmed by Guardian Me­dia states that the vic­tims are a man and a woman.

The mar­ried cou­ple was found at a house in Cocrico Av­enue.

Victims of triple murder identified - mother, daughter, step-father

Po­lice have iden­ti­fied the three peo­ple who were found dead in a ve­hi­cle along the Solomon Ho­choy High­way in Ste Madeleine on Mon­day.

Cou­ple George Quin­tero and Carmeli­ta Gar­cia-Quin­tero and Quin­tero's daugh­ter, Marisol, were iden­ti­fied as the vic­tims found in the pick­up, which was reg­is­tered in Gar­cia-Quin­tero's name. Po­lice con­firmed the cou­ple lived at Block 5, Palmiste, San Fer­nan­do.

Ac­cord­ing to ini­tial re­ports, their bod­ies were dis­cov­ered in the cab­in of a red Nis­san Fron­tier pick­up around 7 am.

Taxi driver shot dead in robbery

A 47-year-old taxi dri­ver was killed dur­ing an ap­par­ent rob­bery ear­ly this morn­ing.

Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, Ken­neth Par­ris, of Lyn­don Street, Curepe, was last seen alive around 2 am when he left Port-of-Spain to trans­port pas­sen­gers to San Juan.

Short­ly af­ter de­part­ing, Par­ris crashed his car at the round­about at the Mar­itime Fly­over.

Emer­gency Health Ser­vices (EHS) per­son­nel, who re­spond­ed to the scene, dis­cov­ered that Par­ris had been shot four times.

Fourth man charged with 2017 murder

A fourth man held in connection with the 2017 death of businessman Saisnarine Ningwah, is expected to appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate today charged with murder.

Omar Cummings, aka “Gully Bob”, 24, of Belmont Road, Port of Spain, was also charged with possession of firearm and possession of ammunition, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC on Tuesday.

Two men charged with Maracas Bay murder

Two men have been charged with the murder of Keidon Williams, which occurred in the Maracas district on Sunday 14th April, 2019.

Ako Degale, 38, Race Course Road, Carapo, and Paul Gosine, 19, Pinewood Drive, Carapo, were also charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition, shooting with intent against two police officers and wounding with intent against three other men, following advice received from Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, Joan Honore-Paul.

They are expected to appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate today to answer to the charges.
