NCC owes $78 million to service providers

The Na­tion­al Car­ni­val Com­mis­sion (NCC) has racked up a debt of $78 mil­lion in the last two years.

The rev­e­la­tion was made be­fore a Pub­lic Ac­counts Com­mit­tee meet­ing chaired by Dr Bhoe Tewarie, as they ex­am­ined of­fi­cials of the NCC on the ex­pen­di­ture and in­ter­nal con­trols for the pe­ri­ods 2010 to 2018.

TTCO claims NCC owes it $1m

The T&T Copy­right Col­lec­tion Or­gan­i­sa­tion (TTCO) claims the Na­tion­al Car­ni­val Com­mis­sion (NCC) owes it close to $1 mil­lion in li­cense fees for works of mas un­der the Copy­right Act of T&T and wants the body to pay up.

With mere weeks away from Car­ni­val 2019, chair­man of the Na­tion­al Car­ni­val Com­mis­sion (NCC) Win­ston "Gyp­sy" Pe­ters says his or­gan­i­sa­tion is yet to re­ceive fund­ing from the Gov­ern­ment to man­age the coun­try's Great­est Show on Earth.

Pe­ters dis­closed this af­ter Wednes­day's Pub­lic Ac­counts Com­mit­tee meet­ing to ex­am­ine NCC's fi­nan­cial ex­pen­di­ture for the years 2010 to 2018 was post­poned to April 10.
