National Flour Mills (NFM) has joined with the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers Association (TTMA) to bring relief to families affected by recent floods.
NFM says it is collaborating with other manufacturers to assist TTMA with the preparation of five hundred food hampers for flood victims.
NFM says its donation of flour and baking powder to this initiative is just one of the ways the company is supporting persons in need of food items.
Distribution to the various disaster relief organisations will be coordinated by the TTMA.
The Minister of Trade and Industry, Paula Gopee-Scoon is assuring the country public that there will be no immediate increase in the price of flour.
Yesterday the minister met with National Flour Mills limited officials yesterday.
The trade minister stressed the importance of the company controlling its operating costs in flour production and other areas of business.
She raised the issue of the pricing of the main types of wheat which represents a major ingredient in the production of flour.
