No official response yet from President's House on allegations of misspending

There is silence from President’s House on new allegations which have surfaced on social media about questionable spending at President’s House and that a relative of Reema Carmona, wife of President Anthony Carmona, is employed at President’s House.

Social media has been abuzz following blogs by political commentator Rhoda Bharath that millions of dollars have allegedly been spent on wine and jewelry. 

President "distraught" over attempt to sell nation's highest award on Ebay

President Anthony Carmona is "distraught" over the attempt by someone to sell the country's highest award, the Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, on Ebay.

The President says in a statement, that the award is not a rag doll and tells the person who is doing it that they must not proceed.

The following is the statement from the Office of the President:

"The purported sale of the Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (ORTT) medal is quite upsetting to President Anthony Thomas Aquinas Carmona ORTT, SC.

President Carmona leaves for Washington

President Anthony Carmona has left the country for Washington DC, where he will participate in the 149th anniversary celebrations of Howard Ubniversity.

"His Excellency President Anthony Thomas Aquinas Carmona O.R.T.T., S.C accepted an invitation from Howard University in Washington DC to take part in the Annual Ceremonial Celebration commemorating the 149th anniversary of the founding of Howard University.
