TTDF begins relief work in the Bahamas
T&T Defence Force (TTDF) personnel have begun their relief operations in the Bahamas.
In a press release issued, this morning, TTDF public affairs officer Lieutenant Sherron Manswell said that the organisation's 100 member team started operations on Monday by meeting with Director of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Stephen Russell, who is coordinating relief efforts in the islands of the archipelago ravaged by Hurricane Dorian.
190 assessments to be sent to Ministry for South flood relief
The Ministry of Social Development and Family Services says it stands ready to provide the necessary assistance to affected persons, following the inclement weather which resulted in severe flooding in some parts of south Trinidad.
As a second responder, the Ministry says it is working closely with its key disaster stakeholders including the first responders – the ODPM, as well as the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government’s Disaster Management Units (DMUs), to assess reported cases, so that assistance could be rendered.
Over 60 entertainers for We4We flood-relief concert Sunday
The organisers of the 2017 One Island concert are focussing on another concert to provide relief for the recent victims of flooding in Trinidad and Tobago.
The concert is to be called 'We4We'.
The event will take place on Sunday November 4th, 2018 at the Centre of Excellence in Macoya from 2 pm to 10 pm, with the cost of admission set at $50 and any items of non-perishable food, cleaning supplies, clothing, or bedding which will be loaded to containers on the spot.
Huawei helps the helpers in flood relief efforts
The local arm of Huawei, a global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices, has joined relief efforts following last weekend's floods.
On Friday Huawei T&T Limited recognised that, following the vast flooding in several areas, there were officers out on the front lines helping others in their communities with relief efforts, while their own homes and families were affected by flooding.
The management and staff of Huawei T&T rallied to collect a variety of items to donate to the Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service.

Proman Group gives $1 million to flood relief efforts
The Proman Group with local subsidiaries MHTL, DeNovo Energy, Industrial Plant Services Limited (IPSL), Process Energy (Trinidad) and Proman AG (Trinidad) has offered support by donating TT$1 million to assist in the relief efforts following last weeks floods.
The group says that the money, channelled through the Living Water Community, will be used to assist families as they get back on their feet and rebuild their lives.
Caribbean Development Bank gives $1.3 million to flood relief
Minister of Planning and Development Camille Robinson-Regis has received financial support in the form of grant funding from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) towards emergency relief efforts for communities affected by the recent flooding.
The sum amounts to US$200,000, which, when converted, is equivalent to approximately TT$1.3 million.
The relief from this grant is to be executed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in collaboration with local authorities.
Amalgamated puts $500,000 into relief efforts
Amalgamated Security Services Limited (ASSL) is donating $500,000 to the flood relief efforts for affected communities and citizens in Trinidad and Tobago.
The company said it started by handing out instant cash donations to its officers who were affected the most.

Sandals gives US$50,000 towards relief efforts
Sandals Resorts International is offering US$50,000 to flood relief efforts.
The funds will come via the Sandals Foundation to the Living Waters Community.
Sandals says Living Waters will use the money to provide items such as cooked food, baby food, diapers, toiletries, non-perishable food items, medical and cleaning supplies.
It says that the areas carded to receive assistance include Sangre Grande, Kelly Village, Oropune, Arima, Tunapuna, Caroni, Chaguanas and Couva.
