Two schools in Claxton Bay have been closed and MP for the area David Lee is not happy about it.
In a Facebook post yesterday, Lee said since October 25, 2019 the Union /Claxton Bay Secondary School (UCB) has been closed due to leaky plumbing on the second floor.
The funeral service for Vaughn “Sandman” Mieres and his wife Alika “Letty” Dehere can not be held at the Las Cuevas Government Primary School, Minister of Education Anthony Garcia confirmed on Wednesday.
On Tuesday a digital flyer began circulating on social media announcing the funeral service for Mieres and his wife would be held at the school on Friday.
The Minister explained that no funeral have ever been held in schools around the country, and this service would not be the one to set a precedent.
