Education Ministry assures payment to school maxi taxi drivers

The Ministry of Education says it has put measures in place to verify all invoices for payments to maxi taxi operators who are contracted by the Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC) to transport school children.

The ministry says this decision follows concerns raised by persons from various quarters to carefully review and analyse all requests for payments, in order to ensure quality service and value for money.

THA installs 60 speed humps in 8 school districts

Primary school students, including chaperons throughout Tobago are safer today as the Division of Infrastructure, Quarries and the Environment has completed its Safe School Pedestrian Crossing Zone Review for 2018.

Every year, the Division, by way of the Transport and Traffic Management Committee, reviews the status of road safety within school districts with a view to safeguard the Island’s children.

Through yearly appraisals, the Division can enhance road infrastructure and deploy responsive traffic solutions in close proximity to schools.

Education Minister assures all schools ready for reopening on Monday

The Education Minister says all schools in Trinidad and Tobago are ready for the reopening of the new school term on Monday.

At a news conference a short while ago, Minister Anthony Garcia said that for the first time in two years, all schools will be ready for the first day.

Repairs were carried out on a number of schools during the Easter holidays.

The minister says principals have assured all repair works have been completed.
