Two Atlanta men sentenced for smuggling 36 guns to T&T

Three people have been sentenced in Atlanta for illegally purchasing 36 guns and smuggling them into Trinidad and Tobago from Georgia.

Officials said 40-year-old Errol Alfred and 34-year-old Kerry Fernandez have been sentenced for their respective roles in illegally purchasing and trafficking the weapons, while 26-year-old Jordan Dunham, a co-defendant in the case, was sentenced for illegally purchasing some of the shipped firearms for the two men.

Prison officer arrested for allegedly smuggling drugs into prison

A prison officer with 19 years experience has been arrested for allegedly smuggling drugs into prison.

CNC3 understands the 41-year-old officer was arrested at his Princes Town home last evening after extensive enquiries were conducted.

Reports are, the officer allegedly went to the Frederick street prison on Saturday night with 2.5 kilos of packaged marijuana.

The officer then reported to his seniors on duty that he was forced to bring the drugs in for a prisoner.
