In the process, the trio of Keron Bramble, Njisane Phillip and Nicholas Paul set a new Pan American record and a new national record of 41.938 seconds riding in the Elite Pan American final against Argentina's Farid Suarez, Juan Serrano and Lucas Vilar who clocked 44.474 seconds.

Rebecca Mohammed executed well in the Women’s Kata at the 13th annual Shotokan Karate-do International Federation (SKIF) World Championships in the Czech Republic in July 15-21 but was eliminated in the quarterfinal round.
Mohammed was part of a five-member team from the local branch of SKIF, who represented T&T including fellow competitors Jennifer de Silva and Stephon Mar along with the head of the delegation and president of SKIF KG TT, Celeste Nottingham and coach and director, Ian Sammy.
