Police are investigating the discovery of a suspicious package at the Chaguanas Magistrates Court this morning.
The discovery forced an evacuation of the court as bomb specialists were called in.
The court was eventually cleared to resume service.
Police have not yet officially stated what the package contained.
We will bring an update as we get more.
A report of a suspicious package led to the closure of 42nd Street between Seventh and Eighth avenues Wednesday morning, the latest sign the city's jitters have not eased from Saturday's bombing in Chelsea.
Police confirmed the bomb squad was responding as a precaution.
Photos on social media show both ends of the highly trafficked street closed to cars and pedestrians, and city officials said to expect traffic delays and road closures in the area as the investigation continued.
