The Political Leader and National Executive of the Congress of the People (COP) is congratulating the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) captain Dwayne Bravo and his entire team for their convincing win over the Amazon Warriors, last night at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.
"We are very pleased with the TKR as they continue to display great team spirit and professionalism and make us proud as a nation. This shows in their excellent results of two consecutive victories and the only team to win three of the six CPL T20 series since 2013," the COP said.
The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) finals are coming back to Trinidad and Tobago for the next three years. The Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs confirmed this in a media release on Friday night.
The release said, "...Cabinet agreed to Trinidad and Tobago’s hosting of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL T20) for the three year period of 2018- 2020."
West Indies players will not have to choose between club and country this August when the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) bowls off. That’s because Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the CPL organisers have come to an agreement on a window for this year’s edition. The tournament bowls off August 8th and ends on September 16th.
