The United States and the United Kingdom have both expressed some concerns about this country's human rights status and are both making recommendations in relation to police treatment of suspects, discrimination against women and attitude towards homosexuals.
The recommendations come as this country undergoes a review of its human right's record, at the 25th Universal Periodic Review in Geneva today.
History was created in Havana, Cuba once again, as today a US cruise ship docked in the city after sailing from Florida.
This is the first such crossing in more than 50 years.
The journey of the cruise ship, 'Adonia', originated in the port of Miami with some 700 passengers.
Cuba and the US restored diplomatic relations last year. But several Cold War-era restrictions on travelling and trading are yet to be lifted.
The cruise trip only went ahead after Cuba scrapped a ban on its citizens entering or leaving the island by sea.
The United States Department of State says Trinidad and Tobago has made considerable accomplishments in the fight against illegal narcotics in 2015, including the extradition of a major drug trafficker.
Its findings are in the 2016 International Narcotics Control Strategy Report (INCSR) released on Wednesday.

The US Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) made the announced in a statement.

The US International Trade Commission (ITC) determined on Wednesday that melamine imports from Trinidad and Tobago did not cause any significant damage to the industry, according to a reports coming out of Houston.
However, it did find that Chinese melamine was subsidised and sold in the US at less than fair value, causing significant harm to the industry.
The US ITC made its determinations in its final-phase anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigations concerning melamine from China and Trinidad and Tobago.
