W Connection winger Neil Bejamin Jr. is headed to Vietnam to ply his trade in the Vietnam V-League with Nam Dinh FC on “a permanent deal.”
The talented 23-year-old Savonetta Boys’ winger was last season’s Pro League top-scorer. His success on the domestic circuit has earned him a contract abroad.
Speaking to his club's media, he said, "It’s an incredible opportunity to be able to sign my first overseas contract and leave your home country and play for a different club."
With the MLS regular season touching off in just three days, New York FC has signed T&T 19-year-old national defender Shannon Gomez on a loan deal from W Connection of Trinidad & Tobago.
The one-year deal comes with an option to buy.
Gomez is a right-sided player who can line up as an attacking fullback or a proper winger. He has capped for the Trinidad & Tobago national team, but is a U.S. resident and won't require an international roster spot.
