Bandit killed in foiled robbery

One bandit has been shot dead by police, while two others are in police custody, following an attempted robbery in Goodword Park, West Moorings.

According to a resident, at around 1 pm, three armed men broke into a home at Ascot Road.

The home belongs to relatives of former Petrotrin Chairman, and businessman, Lindsay Gillette.

Arriving at the scene, at 1:45 pm, Guardian Media was told by police that the scene was still active.

Lindsay Gillette was at the scene and confirmed that all his relatives were safe.

Westmoorings drug accused seeks bail

The par­ents of Krys­tiana Sankar will try again to­day to get her out of jail af­ter her at­tor­ney, Lar­ry Williams, suc­cess­ful­ly filed an ap­pli­ca­tion to have the terms of her bail ad­just­ed.

Sankar, 24 and Yan­nis Peb­bles Au­gus­tine were each grant­ed bail to the sum $6 mil­lion on Mon­day af­ter they ap­peared in court joint­ly charged with pos­ses­sion of mar­i­jua­na and co­caine for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing along­side Aru­ba Eligon and Jer­von Cole.

Four charged in Westmoorings drug bust

Four of the five peo­ple ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with a $15 m drug bust in the up­scale res­i­den­tial dis­trict of West­moor­ings on Tues­day will be charged for pos­ses­sion of il­le­gal drugs with the in­tent to traf­fick.

Krys­tiana Sankar, the for­mer step-daugh­ter of Na­tion­al Se­cu­ri­ty Min­is­ter Stu­art Young, will face ad­di­tion­al charges of pos­ses­sion of a loaded .38 re­volver which was re­cov­ered from a safe in her bed­room at the Re­gents Gar­dens apart­ment.
